An update is long overdue!
From Taichung Bike Week (search #taichungbikeweek on instagram and facebook) all the way to our visits to bike shops in Canada and Northwestern USA, we haven't been updating on our progress.
Brand new, not in market yet bicycle products |
Before we visited North America, we had prepared a couple of special items to being to show bike shops!
Frames: carbon fiber frames with Apro Tech's newest technology embedded.
Handlebars: UNO's newest line of carbon fiber road and MTB handlebars.
Seatposts: UNO's newest line of Carbon Series seatposts. Simple, clean, and Carbon!
Stem: UNO's newly released 3D forged stem. It's lighter than CNC!
We also took the time to travel to the factories that produce such awesome products for the world of bicycling.
Far from our perception of how bike components are made, these factories are clean and high-tech. Don't let that big iron door fool you, its all camouflage for the real action that happens inside. We expected to see workers sweating, metal burning, and cling of the metals and nails... but once we entered, all we heard was the hums, squeaks, and zaps of the machines creating stuff from nothing but chunks of metal and flames. What's amazing is that this place wasn't mass scale, it was producing a small batch.
Then in a small corner, we find a human!
He is hand-welding a bicycle basket destined for the European market.
He welds, lifts his helmet, inspects his work, and goes back to perfect each imperfection that he finds. that is some dedication.
This is the raw material: steel tubes.
This will be transformed into bike frames, handlebars, stems, seatposts... you name it.
The cooker: this machine heats metals up so it makes the metal stronger.
There will be a Taichung Bike Week update soon! as well as our most recent visits to Canada and Northwest USA!
in the meantime, be sure to take a look at our Facebook and Instagram!
